Honeymooning
We are officially married!!
Halloween night we left for our honeymoon in Europe.
Redeye Transatlantic flight + Business Class Pods + Unlimited Cocktails = ZzzzzzzzzzzEach of these footrests flop down and when the seats are fully reclined, turn into quite a comfortable bed.
We also each had our own TV pre-loaded with all sorts of movies, TV shows, games, and music.
After getting through Customs in Heathrow, Matt was very confident Europe was the best choice for a honeymoon...

Sewing and Such
One of my favorite shows is Project Runway. I love watching people stress while trying to figure out how to make clothes out of $50 worth of crap they had to buy from a party store. Who knew a cocktail dress made out of cocktail napkins could be so chic? What better way to celebrate the return of PR than to sew something? My friend Kelly bought her first house this summer and what could be a better housewarming present than a reversible apron? I also threw in a bottle of Mango vodka for good measure :)
First step: pick out fabrics that coordinate enough with out being too matchy matchy. No one likes a cheesy apron.

Step two: cut out all the pattern pieces
Step three: sew and press the ties
Step four: sew the panels together
Step five: attach ties and pin both sides together
Step six: SEW, SEW, SEW!!!

How is that for a cute, non-frumpy apron?

My favorite part is the back panels which are good if you are anything like me in the kitchen. I get bored, turn around, lean against or sit on the counter and watch Matt do the rest of the work. Then I get food on my jeans; sad story. But those back panels protect my lazy butt from sitting in a pile of flour and destroying my clothes... genius!
Next up on my project list is a cute little Amy Butler sling bag that is just waiting to be sewn together.

Pool Puppies
Now that it is 800 degrees here in Vegas, we have been spending our weekends by the pool. Our friends Cookie and Wally have been nice enough to invite us and our chubby bassets over to swim at their house.
Gus and Violet are not big swimmers. In fact, they hate the water. They don't like pools, baths, rain, sprinklers, or when their ears fall in the water bowl as they are trying to get a drink. Because it was soooo hot outside, we had to dunk the puppies in the pool to make sure they stayed cool.
Gus didn't mind but I think Violet was a little pissed
Matt, Wally, Ashley, and Brandon
Ashley and Brandon brought their dog Butters over. Butters is the complete opposite of Gus and Violet when it comes to water. He is so obsessed with it he tries to swim in his water bowl.

There is one dog who hates the water even more than G & V. Dahlie, Cookie and Wally's dog, was content to spend the afternoon coming out to see what was going on and then heading back inside to the air conditioning.

Chicago
This past weekend we took a trip to Chicago to see Mike, spend the day with Grandpa Lisowski, and go to the annual Lisowski Family Party.
We got in Thursday and spent the night walking around Navy Pier. We stood outside of a bar with a hundred other eager Chicagoans waiting to see if Lebron James was going to sign with the Bulls (he picked Miami, boo!)

Friday we spent the day with Grandpa. He told us about how his parents emigrated from Poland, his older brother's experiences in WWII, and showed us his wedding album.
